"My time with SAM has been a positive experience. This group has been a perfect example of the good Second Life can do - not just for enhancing one's SL experience, but a model of what can be achieved when we band together and set differences aside. I myself an semi-autistic (Asperger syndrome), and this group was huge in enhancing not just my understanding of this virtual world, but in helping me bring down some of the barriers my AS previously presented. Indeed I go forward in this game with the lesson I've learned in this group.
Second Life needs more groups like the wonderful individuals that make up SAM. I consider myself privileged to be among their ranks."

"When I started the SecondAbility Mentor Training, I was annoyed thinking I knew everything, being here and mentoring for years now, but it was a very moving exploration of others and myself. Thank you."

"Second Ability Mentors changed my life..... my first one, and my Second Life. In fact, without them, I am doubtful I would be in Second Life. Not being technically inclined, the prospect of learning SL for work was daunting. I searched for an orientation program and was incredibly impressed by the one at Virtual Ability Island. I went through the exercises and then had a crisis: the turquoise shirt I'd "bought" would not go away. I used the help bell to call a mentor and was comforted when someone arrived immediately. After much experimentation, Saxet Uralia had not only fixed the problem, but offered me mentorship as a fellow educator. It was her ability to calm me, assure me this was not a typical problem, and explain things to me that helped me realize the possibilties of SL and CONTINUE to explore it. Now, I am teaching a module in SL and the first instruction I give students is once they are ready to leave Help Island, to go to Virtual Ability Island, and if they feel uncertain, or are stuck, to call for a mentor. THIS mentorship so early in the SL experience was not just the key to my continuing in world, but I believe, the key to many newcomers having a positive, SUPPORTED beginning in Second Life. I cannot thank Saxet enough for her help that evening. It was the turning point for me in first life, and my avatar in Second Life."

"OMG I LURVE SecondAbility, for all it has done. SAM was the first Second Life resident run mentor group I joined. And it was and continues to be the best. I enjoy helping users and SAM gives a great organized means of doing so! YAYZERAMA for SAM!"
